Every year we get more excited to show off what we have in store!  The greenhouses are full of beautiful annuals, perennials, roses and more.  This weekend is the prime time to see it all before planting season is at its peak.  It is a great time to get the best selection, ask questions and make plans for your most beautiful yard and garden yet. We will have a variety of special buys for the weekend as well.

Come take a leisurely stroll, enjoy a soda and cookie or some fresh popcorn and some fresh country air. Children will also enjoy the animals in residence.

Late April/Early May is time to:

  • Plant strawberries
  • Seed wildflower beds
  • Remove tree wrap so insects and disease don’t harbor there.
  • Plant summer flowering bulbs such as dahlias, lilies, & gladiolus (plant asparagus & rhubarb too)

Purchase summer-flowering bulbs in early spring while the selection is good, but wait to plant them after the danger of frost is past. (May  ) Eaton Grove offers a nice selection of bulbs such as dahlias, gladiolus, lilies and tuberous begonias.

  • Mulch around trees and shrubs
  • Clip new candles on evergreens to maintain compact growth
  • Seed or sod cool season grasses like bluegrass or fescue
  • Fertilize roses if you haven’t
  • Apply broadleaf weed killer on the lawn
